Two Local Businesses deemed “Heroes”

(Spearfish, SD)  Two local businesses where honored Thursday with Hero Awards from local Realtors® For Kids organization.  Wells Fargo Home Mortgage and Black Hills Choppers were the first contributors to RFK to be honored with the Hero award.  Their generous contributions and support for the efforts of the local non-profit organization is what earned them this recognition.

Back in April of 2007, Wells Fargo donated $2000 from its Robbie Niesent Memorial fund to benefit Realtors® For Kids.  The Hero award was presented to Wells Fargo in Robbie’s name.  Black Hills Choppers has donated the proceeds from their last two annual Poker Runs to Realtors® For Kids.  Their contributions totaled over $5000.

Last week Realtors® For Kids received another generous donation, this time from Lawrence County Title Company.  The local title company donated $1000 to RFK in lieu of sending holiday cards and gift baskets to their clients.

Realtors® for Kids is a  non-profit organization that was started in 2003, when a group of individuals from the Northern Black Hills Association of REALTORS® got together to discuss a way to address the growing need in our communities.  Realtors® For Kids strives to build stronger communities by creating opportunities for the children.  To date RFK has donated over $75,000 to local area children.

The Northern Black Hills Association of REALTORS® is one of nearly 1,600 local boards and associations nation wide that comprise the National Association of Realtors®.  As the nation’s largest trade association, NAR is “The Voice of Real Estate,” representing more than 1.3 million members involved in all aspects of the real estate industry who subscribe to its strict code of ethics.

Realtors® For Kids will continue to serve its local communities and looks forward to several fundraising activities in 2008.
